Privacy
What we keep about you, why, for how long, who else sees it, and how to have it removed. This is the whole of it.
The short version
You can read everything and hear everything on uncvr without telling us anything. If you open an account we keep your email address, a name if you give one, what you save, which gatherings you follow, and your ticket orders. We do not track what you read, we do not sell or share your address, and we do not use advertising cookies. Closing your account deletes it.
Who is responsible
uncvr is run from Amman, Jordan by [LEGAL NAME — to be supplied by the founder],[REGISTERED ADDRESS, Amman — to be supplied by the founder]. Write to hello@uncvr.me.
The legal name and address are to be supplied by the founder before the site goes public.
What we keep, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | It is your account. Sign-in codes, receipts and the letters you asked for go to it. | Until you close the account |
| A name, if you give one | To greet you. Optional; leave it empty and we use your address. | Until you close the account |
| Your shelf and the gatherings you follow | So they are there when you come back, and so we can tell you when a night in a followed gathering is announced. | Until you remove them or close the account |
| Your ticket orders | Your record of what you ordered, and the room's record of who was expected. | Orders are kept after an account closes, with your name and address removed |
| A sign-in session | So you stay signed in. Held as a code on your device and a fingerprint of it on ours; neither is a password. | Sixty days, or until you sign out |
| A note that your address asked for a sign-in code | So an address can ask for at most five codes an hour, which stops someone flooding it. | Twenty-four hours |
| The device your player was last used on | Where you were in a recording, so it resumes. Stored on your device only. | Until you clear your browser |
That is the complete list. There is no reading history, no profile, and nothing inferred from what you do here.
What we do not do
- We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in, and it exists only if you sign in.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your address, and we do not pass it to anyone except the services below that need it to do a job for us.
- We do not load anything from a third party until you ask for it: fonts are served from uncvr itself, and SoundCloud's player loads only when you press play.
- We do not measure visitors unless the site is configured with Cloudflare's own analytics, which uses no cookies and no identifier. If it is on, it counts pages, not people.
Who else handles your data
Four services do work for us, and each sees only what that work needs. They act on our instructions and under their own published terms.
| Service | What it does for uncvr | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Serves every page and holds the accounts database. Sees the address of every visitor, as any host must. | Global edge; EU and US data centres |
| SoundCloud | Plays a recording when you press play, and only then. Its player loads from SoundCloud and SoundCloud sees that request. | Germany and the US |
| Resend | Sends the letters: sign-in codes, receipts, announcements. Sees the address a letter goes to. | US |
| The ticket provider | Takes payment for tickets, when one is connected. Named here the day it is. | To be confirmed |
The letters
We only write to you for a reason you can see: a sign-in code you asked for, a receipt for an order you placed, a night announced in a gathering you chose to follow, or a change to your account's access. Every letter except the sign-in code says how to stop it, and following a gathering is undone on your account page. There is no mailing list you are added to by joining.
Your rights
Whether or not a law names them where you live, you have these, and you exercise most of them yourself on your account page:
- See everything we hold — it is all on your account page.
- Correct your name there; write to us to change the address.
- Delete it: close your account. The address, the name, the shelf and the follows are deleted at once. Orders are kept as the room's record with your details removed.
- Take it with you: write to us and we will send what we hold as a plain file.
- Object or complain: write to us first. If you are in the European Union you may also complain to your national data protection authority; in Jordan, to the authority established under the Personal Data Protection Law of 2023.
The legal basis, for those who need it
Under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation and Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law: we hold your account because you asked for one (performance of a contract); we send the letters you asked for on the same basis; we keep the sign-in request log and order records because a site has a legitimate interest in not being flooded and a room in knowing who was expected. Nothing here rests on consent that you would have to withdraw, except following a gathering, which you can undo.
Children
Nights on uncvr are 21+ unless an entry says otherwise, and the site is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly keep an account for anyone under 18; write to us and it will be removed.
Changes
This page carries the date it was last changed at the top. A change that matters to you — anything we would newly keep or newly share — is announced by letter to every account before it takes effect.
