Terms
The rules of a ticket, and the rules of the shelf. Both are short, and both are meant to be fair.
1 · Tickets
What a ticket is
A ticket admits one person to the night it names, at the venue and time it names. Every night on uncvr is 21+unless its entry says otherwise, and identification may be asked for at the door. A ticket does not guarantee entry to someone who is refused for behaviour, and the venue's own house rules apply once you are inside.
Prices and fees
The price shown is the price paid. Any booking fee is included in it and declared above the tiers before you choose, never added afterwards. Prices are in the currency the night names.
Refunds — the fair version
We would rather a ticket went to someone who can use it than be argued over. So:
- If we cancel the night, or move its date, its venue or the billed artist, you get a full refund, fee included, without asking. We write to every ticket holder the day it happens.
- Up to 7 days before doors, you can ask for a full refund for any reason, from your account page or by writing to us. The fee is refunded too.
- Inside 7 days, a ticket is not refunded — but it can be given to someone else, free, until doors. Change the name on it from your account page, or write to us. The other person comes in your place.
- A night that goes ahead as billed, with the ticket unused, is not refunded. Weather, transport and a change of plans are the holder's to bear; that is what the 7-day window and the free transfer are for.
Refunds go back the way the money came, within ten days of our confirming them. Where a payment provider's own charge cannot be recovered by us, we say so before you confirm the purchase, not after.
Resale
A ticket may be passed on at face value or less, using the transfer above. A ticket offered for more than its face value is cancelled and the buyer is written to. A sold-out night offers a waiting list, so a returned ticket goes to the next person in line rather than to a reseller.
Sold out
"Sold out" means every tier is gone. The waiting list, where offered, is served in order and a ticket that becomes available is offered to the first person on it for a fixed time before passing to the next.
Recording
uncvr records its nights and files them on the shelf: that is what the shelf is. By entering you accept that the sound of the room, including the audience, may be recorded, and that you may appear in photographs of the night. A photograph in which you are the subject is not published without asking you first.
2 · The shelf
Listening is free
Everything filed as public can be heard in full, by anyone, without an account and without charge. That is a commitment, not a promotion.
Streaming only
The recordings are heard here and nowhere else. They are not offered for download, and the site does not permit it. Recording, ripping, re-hosting or redistributing a recording from uncvr is not allowed — not because we are precious about it, but because the artists whose work it is were promised that this is where it lives, on these terms. Where a recording is also issued elsewhere, its entry links there.
Whose work it is
Each recording belongs to the artists who made it and is published on the shelf by agreement with them; the agreement is noted on the entry. The photographs belong to the photographers credited on them, and the writing in the journal to the writers credited on it. uncvr holds the catalogue — the numbering, the descriptions, the record of what happened — and keeps it public. Nothing on the shelf is in the public domain unless its entry says so.
Quoting and linking
Link to any page freely. Quote from the journal with credit, at the length fair dealing allows. Embed nothing: the player stays here so the artists' terms travel with the recording.
3 · Accounts
An account is one person and one email address. You are responsible for what is done from your account while you are signed in, and for signing out on a shared machine. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the site or its people, and we say so when we do. You may close your account at any time; what that removes is set out in theprivacy policy.
4 · The rest
- These terms are governed by the law of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Nothing in them takes away a right you have under the law where you live.
- If any part of them cannot be enforced, the rest stands.
- They carry the date they were last changed at the top. A change to the refund terms does not apply to a ticket already bought.
- They are made by [LEGAL NAME — to be supplied by the founder], [REGISTERED ADDRESS, Amman — to be supplied by the founder]. Write to hello@uncvr.me.
The legal name and address are to be supplied by the founder before the site goes public.
